        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  Illinois  Springfield  women's  basketball  team  built  a  commanding  first-half  lead,  but  McKendree  stormed  back  in  the  second  half  to  take  a  77-70  victory  on  Thursday  night  at  TRAC.  The  Bearcats  improved  to  12-8,  8-6  in  the  GLVC  while  UIS  slipped  to  5-17,  4-10.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  UIS  softball  team  is  set  to  compete  in  the  Alvy  Early  Memorial  Classic  this  weekend  in  Bentonville,  Ark.  The  Prairie  Stars  will  open  play  on  Friday  against  Central  Missouri  at  11:00  a.m.,  followed  by  a  matchup  with  Northwest  Missouri  State  at  1:30  p.m.  On  Saturday,  UIS  will  take  on  Washburn  at  11:00  a.m.  before  wrapping  up  the  tournament  against  Missouri  Southern  at  1:30  p.m.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Despite  a  career  night  from  Jack  Weber  and  a  strong  second-half  push,  the  Illinois  Springfield  men's  basketball  team  couldn't  complete  the  comeback,  falling  79-75  to  McKendree  on  Thursday  night  at  TRAC.  The  Bearcats  improved  to  11-10  (8-6  GLVC),  while  UIS  dropped  to  10-12  (5-9  GLVC).

"The  difference  in  the  game  was  perimeter  shooting,"  said  Coach  Brock.  "They  started  hot  from  three  and  seemed  to  hit  a  dagger  every  time  we  got  in  striking  distance.  They  did  a  great  job  of  limiting  our  shooters."</div>

By  total  votes,  UIS  ranks  ahead  of  Missouri-St.  Louis  (East,  8  points),  Quincy  (West,  7  points),  and  William  Jewell  (West,  4  points).</div>
