The  cybersecurity  team  is  seeing  an  increase  in  compromised  accounts  through  sophisticated  attacks,  particularly&nbsp;related  to  Duo  MFA,  the  University  of  Illinois’  multifactor  authentication  (MFA)  solution.&nbsp;



What  is  happening?&nbsp;



Fraudulent  emails,  known  as  phishing,  are  a  common  way  criminals  steal  NetIDs  and  passwords  and  gain  access  to  your  private  information  and  university  resources.&nbsp;</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  Great  Lakes  Valley  Conference  (GLVC)  announced  Tuesday  that  3,669  student-athletes  have  earned  Academic  All-GLVC  distinction  for  the  2023-24  academic  year.  208 awards  were  given to  186  Prairie  Stars,  as  22  multi-sport  athletes  met  the  standards  for  the  award.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Amanda  Swigert  of  Decatur,  Illinois,  has  been  admitted  to  the  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  for  Fall  Semester  2024  and  awarded  an  $8,000  Star  Scholar  Award  for  tuition  over  four  years.



The  scholarship  is  awarded  based  on  high  school  GPA  and  can  be  renewed  for  a  total  of  four  years  if  the  student  maintains  college  GPA  requirements.



Swigert  will  major  in  elementary  education.  Following  graduation  from  UIS,  she  plans  to  teach  at  a  Title  I  school  like  Hope  Academy  in  Illinois.</div>
