UIS Student Union opens its doors to community members following last Thursday’s storm
The University of Illinois Springfield Student Union is opening its doors to community members who may still be without power following last Thursday’s storm.
The Union will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday for anyone who wishes to charge their cellular devices, use the guest Wi-Fi network, utilize available desk space for remote work or get out of the heat and enjoy an air-conditioned space.
Parking is available in Lot J to the east of the Student Union. Individuals using the Union for storm relief are not required to pay for parking.

Fire Alarm System Inspections Beginning July 5
Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
Facilities and Services will oversee the inspection of fire alarm systems during the week of July 3rd.
This is primarily a visual inspection, but there will be brief, intermittent activations of alarm horns and strobe lights as part of inspection procedures.
Student data affected by cybersecurity attack on National Student Clearinghouse
Dear students and colleagues, We have received information that the personal data of many of our students was accessed in a global cyberattack. As reported by the news media, various institutions were targeted in a May 31 ransomware attack, including well-known information technology and accounting firms. University of Illinois System computers were not compromised in this event.
