        <div  class="newsletter-txt">SPRINGFIELD,  IL  (February  6,  2023)  –  The  spring  semester  of  competition  for  the  UIS  Speech  and  Debate  Team  began  this  past  week  at  a  competition  hosted  virtually  by  the  University  of  Illinois  Urbana-Champaign.  UIUC  hosted  their  annual  competition  entitled  the  Hot  Cocoa  Classic  this  year.  The  tournament  involved  nineteen  schools  representing  nine  different  states.  Returning  competitor  Clark  Morgan  entered  impromptu  speaking  at  this  competition  and  placed  5th.  </div>
