University of Illinois Springfield enrollment increases by 6.4% for Fall Semester 2022

Fall 2022 census numbers show an increase in the number of students taking classes at the University of Illinois Springfield. After the first 10 days of classes, a total of 4,198 students are enrolled, up 6.4% from 3,944 students in fall 2021.

Sangamon Experience at the University of Illinois Springfield invites the public to attend “Dennis Williams: Prominent 19th Century African American Artist in Springfield, Illinois.” This presentation is by Mary Frances, a local independent historian and artist, and is funded by Illinois Humanities.

UIS Student Wins Extemporaneous Speaking

SPRINGFIELD, IL (March 14, 2022) – Novice UIS competitor Meghan Vlcek won extemporaneous speaking at the Last Chance at Illinois State Tournament held online from March 8th – 11th. Extemporaneous speaking is an event where students receive questions about the news and have a limited time to research and prepare their response. Vlcek has been focusing on this event since she joined the team this past fall.

UIS Has Strong Performance at OATS 6 Tournament

SPRINGFIELD, IL (February 28, 2022) – Novice UIS competitor Meghan Vlcek continued her streak of strong performances at the Online Asynchronous Tournament Series (OATS) sixth competition. This tournament was hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University and featured competition from 49 universities and colleges representing nearly 20 different states.
