        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  UIS  women's  track  and  field  team  will  compete  in  the  2025  Great  Lakes  Valley  Conference  Outdoor  Championships  this  week,  hosted  by  Lewis  in  Romeoville,  Ill.  The  three-day  event  will  take  place  Thursday  through  Saturday,  May  1–3.

Entries
UIS  will  be  represented  in  a  variety  of  distance  and  middle-distance  events  throughout  the  meet,  beginning  with  the  1,500-meter  preliminaries  on  Thursday.  A  mix  of  returners  and  fresh  faces  will  take  the  track  in  Lillian  Buzani,  Marissa  Roggensack,  and  Josslyn  Gaona.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  Illinois  Springfield  softball  team  opened  the  GLVC  Tournament  with  a  strong  statement,  taking  down  No.  4  seed  McKendree  7-2  on  Wednesday  afternoon  at  the  EastSide  Centre.  The  win  marked  the  Prairie  Stars'  first  conference  tournament  victory  since  2019  and  improved  their  record  to  30-18  on  the  season.</div>

This  in-person  training,  led  by  Ray  Rodriguez,  will  focus  on  recognizing  and  addressing  interpersonal  bias  in  the  workplace,  emphasizing  the  roles  of  ethics,  equity,  and  culture.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  Illinois  Springfield  softball  team  is  back  in  the  postseason  and  will  open  the  2025  Great  Lakes  Valley  Conference  Tournament  as  the  No.  5  seed,  taking  on  No.  4  McKendree  in  the  first  round  on  Wednesday.

The  game,  originally  scheduled  for  noon,  is  now  set  to  begin  at  12:30  p.m.  due  to  forecasted  weather  conditions  that  prompted  adjustments  to  Wednesday's  schedule  at  the  EastSide  Centre  in  East  Peoria,  Ill.</div>
