We  have  made  it  to  May!  Very  soon,  we  will  be  celebrating  the  achievements  of  our  wonderful  graduates  during  our  May  13  commencement  ceremony.         <div  class="newsletter-txt">In  a  new  analysis,  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  Associate  Professor  of  Political  Science  Magic  Wade  found  from  2015-2021  many  cities  in  the  United  States  surpassed  historical  gun  violence  rates  observed  during  the  1990s.  She  looked  at  data  from  small,  mid-size  and  large  U.S.  cities.</div>

University  Property  Accounting  and  Reporting  (UPAR)  is  excited  to  announce  a  new  feature  in  the  Biennial  Inventory  (BI)  application.  The  new  Mass  Update  tool  will  be  available  to  Biennial  users  with  the  role  of  Unit  Contact  and  Unit  Specialist.&nbsp;</div>

Dear  Faculty  and  Staff  —



UIS  interim  Provost  Linda  Delene  has  informed  me  of  her  decision  to  resign  from  her  position,  and  I  have  accepted  it,  effective  immediately.  I  thank  Dr.  Delene  for  her  service  to  our  university.



As  you  know,  we  are  in  the  final  stages  of  our  search  for  our  permanent  provost.  I  will  announce  an  interim  plan  soon.
