Meet the record-setting star at the center of a historic UIS women's basketball season
The University of Illinois Springfield women’s basketball team surprisingly but justifiably swarmed Lauren Ladowski prior to Thursday’s tip against Quincy at The Recreation and Athletic Center.
A pregame ceremony at midcourt presented the four-year junior guard with a plaque after nabbing the school’s all-time scoring record the previous week at Rockhurst. She beat Megan Bergerud’s mark of 1,348 points set from 2010 to 2014.
UIS to offer more than 40 accelerated courses starting March 21
The University of Illinois Springfield will offer more than 40 accelerated courses in a variety of formats, including online and on-campus, for prospective and current students. All classes will begin Monday, March 21, and will conclude in May.
“This is a great opportunity for new UIS students to start or finish their education,” said UIS Interim Chancellor Karen Whitney. “It’s also a chance for current students to add to their course load and potentially earn their 69app in a shorter period of time.”

Dear Colleagues –
It is hard to believe we are officially midway through winter. The snow on campus is beautiful. Many thanks to everyone who worked incredibly hard last week to keep UIS open during inclement weather. While we may have canceled on-ground classes for two days last week, many of our programs and services continued through the storm. Thank you to all employees who kept facilities open and warm, the snow cleared and food available for students who call campus home.
