UIS Has a Strong 2020-2021 Competitive Season
SPRINGFIELD, IL (May 17, 2021) – The UIS Speech and Debate Team had a strong 20-21 competitive season. The past year has been defined by the COVID-19 pandemic. All practices, student meetings, and tournaments were held virtually to safeguard all involved. These changes required a lot of adaptation but despite the challenges, UIS had a successful season.
In total, the team attended nine competitions this season and won seven student awards. Those awards include:

SPRINGFIELD, IL (November, 3, 2021) – The UIS Speech and Debate Team attended its first tournament of the 21-22 competitive season. The Online Asynchronous Tournament Series (OATS) is a season long set of competitions hosted asynchronously by Southwest Minnesota State University and a few partner institutions. The OATS 2 tournament took place from October 25th through October 29th.

SPRINGFIELD, IL (December 18, 2021) – The UIS Speech and Debate Team finished the fall semester of competition at the Online Asynchronous Tournament Series Tournament #4 held jointly by Southwest Minnesota State University and Wayne State College. Forty five universities were in attendance at this competition from as far away as Arizona, Florida, and Virginia.
UIS to hold Graduate School Week Feb. 7-11
The University of Illinois Springfield will hold a virtual Graduate School Week Feb. 7-11, 2022. The week will give students who are thinking about earning a master’s 69ÂÜÀòapp a chance to learn more about UIS’ 52 graduate 69ÂÜÀòapps.
