        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Illinois  Springfield  senior  outfielder  Ty  Hollandsworth  has  been  named  the  Great  Lakes  Valley  Conference  (GLVC)  Player  of  the  Week,  the  league  office  announced  Monday.

Hollandsworth,  a  native  of  Fort  Lauderdale,  Fla.,  batted  .571  (4-for-7)  in  two  games  on  Sunday,  the  first  half  of  the  Prairie  Stars'  series  against  Northwood.  He  posted  a  .625  on-base  percentage  and  demonstrated  impressive  power  with  three  home  runs  for  a  1.857  slugging  percentage.  Hollandsworth  drove  in  five  runs,  scoring  four.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  Illinois  Springfield  softball  team  split  its  doubleheader  against  Thomas  More  on  Sunday,  falling  4-3  in  the  opener  before  bouncing  back  with  an  11-6  victory  in  game  two.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">The  UIS  baseball  team  dropped  both  games  against  Northwood  on  Monday,  falling  to  a  3-5  overall  record.  The  Prairie  Stars  hit  two  home  runs  in  a  4-2  loss  in  the  seven-inning  opener,  while  the  Timberwolves  pulled  away  for  a  12-5  win  in  the  nine-inning  series  finale.  Despite  recording  12  hits  in  the  second  game,  UIS  couldn't  overcome  an  early  deficit  as  Northwood  built  a  commanding  lead  through  the  middle  innings.</div>

I  got  an  internship  with  the  local  congressman  while  I  was  at  UIS  and  was  hooked  ever  since



Who  or  what  has  been  your  biggest  influence  or  mentor  in  your  journey?



I  have  had  lots  of  mentors  and  influences  that  have  helped  me  get  to  where  I  am  at  now.</div>
