        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Illinois  Springfield  travels  for  a  midweek  matchup  against  Purdue  Northwest  on  Wednesday,  Dec.  18,  followed  by  a  tough  test  against  Grand  Valley  State  on  Friday,  Dec.  20.

Illinois  Springfield  (4-6,  1-3  GLVC)

The  Prairie  Stars  aim  to  stay  undefeated  against  Purdue  Northwest,  holding  a  2-0  all-time  record,  including  an  85-76  win  last  December.  UIS  comes  off  a  narrow  70-64  home  loss  to  Kentucky  Wesleyan,  where  the  Stars  shot  40.9%  from  the  field  but  struggled  from  deep  at  28.6%.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Lexie  Richardson  of  Greenview,  Illinois,  has  been  admitted  to  the  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  for  Fall  Semester  2025  and  awarded  a  $12,000  Star  Scholar  Award  for  tuition  over  two  years.  At  UIS,  she  will  major  in  pre-nursing.



The  scholarship  is  awarded  based  on  high  school  GPA  and  can  be  renewed  if  the  student  maintains  college  GPA  requirements.



In  high  school,  she  was  involved  in  volleyball,  cheerleading,  track  and  field,  yearbook,  chorus,  scholastic  bowl  and  the  National  Honors  Society.</div>

        <div  class="newsletter-txt">Miriam  Wallace,  dean  of  the  College  of  Liberal  Arts  and  Social  Sciences  at  the  University  of  Illinois  Springfield,  has  been  elected  to  the  executive  council  of  the  Modern  Language  Association  (MLA).  Wallace  will  serve  a  four-year  term,  concluding  in  2029.</div>
