Matthew  Edwards  chose  the  University  of  Illinois  Springfield  because  of  its  affordability  and  proximity  to  home.  Edwards  serves  as  the  vice  president  for  Model  Illinois  Government  and  The  Prairie  Clowns.  He  also  serves  as  the  vice  chancellor  of  the  Political  Understanding  and  Activist  Club  and  is  a  member  of  Delta  Kappa  Epsilon  International  Fraternity  Inc.
