State creates task force to consider merits, needed regulations for AI

Joining a host of states across the country, Illinois is taking a hard look at the emerging presence of artificial intelligence — a computer technology that can perform problem-solving and decision-making typically seen by humans — by considering its possibilities while weighing its risks.
UIS ID Center is moving! Location closed Sept. 6-7
In-person ID Center services will be unavailable on September 6 and 7 as we move to our new location in University Hall Building, Room 1004 (UHB1004).
Staff will continue to be available by email during the move to assist with meal plans and other online inquiries. Full services resume Friday, September 8 at the new location.
Road Closure: Vachel Lindsay - September 6 & 7
Vachel Lindsay Drive will be closed Wednesday, September 6 at 12 noon and re-open Thursday September 7 at 12 noon. Please use Ernest Hemingway Drive and University Drive to access campus during this time. Residents of West Campus may access the parking lot using 11th Street and the first parking lot entrance on Vachel Lindsay.
