Samuel Moore of Moweaqua awarded a $28,000 scholarship from the University of Illinois Springfield
Samuel Moore of Moweaqua, a senior at Central A&M High School, has been admitted to the University of Illinois Springfield for Fall Semester 2023 and awarded a $28,000 Lincoln Merit Scholarship for tuition over four years. At UIS, he will major in accounting.
The scholarship is awarded based on high school GPA and can be renewed for a total of four years if the student maintains college GPA requirements.
At Central A&M High School, he is a member of the student council, student government, National Honor Society and the scholastic bowl team.
UIS Student Affairs staff and programs receive awards at Region V ACUI Conference
University of Illinois Springfield Student Affairs staff and programs were honored with awards at the Association of College Unions International (ACUI) Region V Conference in Madison, Wisconsin, October 27-29, 2022.
Marie Watson, associate director of student life, received the Inspiring Vision Award for mid-level professionals.

UIS Education Honor Society inducts new members
The Alpha Alpha Gamma chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the International Honor Society in Education, at the University of Illinois Springfield inducted 12 new members during a ceremony in the Studio Union on Sunday, Nov. 6. Julie Hoffman, a Springfield Public Schools teacher and adjunct professor at UIS, was the guest speaker.
