style="color:#003366;font-size:18px">UIS' Sangamon Experience documentary, "Soil &amp; Soul: Farming in the Sangamon River Valley," was selected for screening at the April Farm to Film Fest in Washington, Iowa. The documentary tells the stories of ten individuals who have spent their lives farming throughout the Sangamon River Valley, an area encompassing approximately 1,500 square miles in central Illinois. Anne Moseley, director and curator of the Sangamon Experience, said the selection is a testament to the film’s impact in preserving the voices of local farmers: "highlighting the vital role they play in our region’s history and culture.” </p> <p class="has-text-color" style="color:#003366;font-size:18px">“Soil &amp; Soul” was produced by Rich Saal and Noah Sabich. In this role, she facilitates daily operations of the Office of the Provost, manages the support staff team, provides overall coordination of the Provost’s activities, and supports the Deans and Directors Council. Monica’s more than 15 years of experience at UIS began in the Office of Human Resources, where she served as Assistant to the HR Director and managed HR business processes before joining the Provost's Office in 2011.
