My journey into higher education began during my undergraduate years at Kentucky State University, where I was deeply engaged on campus. I started a book club, joined several student organizations — including Presidential Protégés and the Student Government Association — and became an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

The weeks before finals can be a very stressful time for students, and it is important to take time to relax and relieve some stress through fun activities.
There will be a variety of fun activities students are welcome to partake in such as: outdoor games, frisbee, door raffle for prizes, sensory bottles, flower pot painting, chalk, and much more! Food will also be provided at the event.

Final tests can be a stressful time for all students, so it is important to take some time to relax and de-stress during these final weeks of the Spring 2023 semester. Come down to the SAB Building on Thursday, April 27th, from 10:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M. to partake in a variety of activities to de-stress, relax, and have fun!

Finals can be a stressful time, but The Learning Hub is here to help students handle that stress! Students are welcome to study with Learning Hub staff; writing, math, exercise science, accounting, and general academic skills tutors are all available for finals cramming!
Students can also make and decorate flower pots and fly kites (as long as the weather permits) for fun during finals week.

What is the Summer Scholars Program?
The University of Illinois Springfield's (UIS) Summer Scholars Program offers incoming freshmen a unique opportunity to jumpstart their college experience by earning up to 6 college credits for free during the summer. Participants engage in on-campus activities and continue with remote learning, providing a comprehensive introduction to college life.
