UIS is once again offering a half-day Professional Development Retreat for employees focused on Redefining Workplace Culture. Sessions will offer employees the opportunity to better understand the components of strong teams and workplace habits.
The next Civil Service Advisory Council meeting will be held on聽February 7, 2024,聽in SLB 104 (Student Life Building) at 10:00 am.聽All civil service employees are welcome to attend in person but may also watch the meeting via .

This event is called "Envisioning an Equitable Future: UIS and Beyond" and will run from 9 am-3 pm on Friday, April 26 in the Lincoln Residence Hall (LRH) Great Room. Full-day attendance is welcome but not required. Morning and afternoon coffee/tea will be provided as well as lunch for registered attendees. All members of the UIS community (students, staff, faculty, and administrators) are encouraged to attend this campus-wide conference centering our collective efforts toward an equitable future.

Faculty and staff heard from Chancellor Gooch, Dr. Ken Kriz and Dr. Vickie Cook about important university priorities, including budget and enrollment, and had the opportunity to ask questions of university leadership.
In response to faculty and staff feedback, UIS offered its inaugural Rise Professional Development Retreat for Civil Service/Academic Professional staff and Faculty. A multidisciplinary team of UIS colleagues developed an exciting half-day retreat focused on Workplace Wellness. Workshops offered the opportunity to understand how to challenge the culture of stress.
