A Call to Think: Enduring Legacy of Lincoln

Jacob Friefeld and Chancellor Gooch will engage in a powerful conversation about the enduring legacy of President Abraham Lincoln. As Director of the Center for Lincoln Studies, Dr. Friefeld is uniquely positioned to guide us through Lincolns life, leadership, and the ways he was perceived in his time. They will explore the relevance of Lincolns principles today and will draw meaningful connections and parallels to our current societal landscape.

Mark your calendar to attend the annual Faculty-Staff Kickoff at 2:30 p.m. Aug. 21 in the Student Union Ballroom. You will hear from the chancellor and vice chancellors about university priorities for the coming academic year and meet new faculty and staff. Its an opportunity to start of the year strong and to network with employees across campus.

Learn our playbook for the upcoming year, and meet new faculty and administrative staff. Following Kickoff, join us for Convocation in the Sangamon Auditorium and a party on the quad with free food.

Dear Faculty & Staff

Following President Killeens June 25 announcement, this message confirms the 1% merit-based salary program for the 2025-26 academic year. The 1% merit-based salary program is to be distributed at the discretion of the unit head. Division heads will identify the unit head for each area based on operational responsibility.
