UIS leverages CrowdStrike for our endpoint protection. We are aware of the globally-impacting technical issue with CrowdStrike software that may cause Windows computers to be unresponsive and display the “blue screen of death."Â

Zoom Desktop Client Update
If you use the Zoom Desktop client, please update your software to the most recent version. Zoom requires a every 3 months in an effort ensure users have current privacy and security enhancements. Information on viewing your Zoom version number can be found at .
Duo Security Enhancements to Duo Mobile Generated Passcodes and Device Management Communications
What is happening?
In our continued efforts to improve Duo 2-Factor Authentication configuration for enhanced security and usability, starting July 17, 2024, Duo Mobile generated passcodes will have a 30-second expiration limit.
Additionally, users will now be notified by Duo Mobile Push, when a new device is added to or removed from their Duo profile.

We want to make you aware of campus-wide inspections that will be conducted over the next two weeks.
- Week of July 15 - fire extinguishers will be inspected and serviced as needed
- Week of July 22 - fire sprinklers will be inspected. The inspection process will not activate alarms or strobe lights.
We will send an update if there are any changes to the schedules.

This year we will have a 2% merit-based salary program across 69ÂÜÀòapp System.
Our faculty and staff are the drivers of the excellence we deliver to students, their families and the people of Illinois. This year’s salary program, crafted in consultation with system and university leadership, remains an important priority, even as we weigh many competing financial demands and budgetary constraints.
Facilities and Services will oversee the inspection of fire alarm systems during the week of July 8th. This is primarily a visual inspection, but there will be brief, intermittent activations of alarm horns and strobe lights as part of inspection procedures.

Web Services will host a series of workshops in July to help MarCom professionals across the university leverage the Webtools platform to implement the brand. Workshops will include several new enhancements to Forms, Surveys and Email+.
