UIC Nursing Students, ISU Nursing Students, & Interns

We welcome you to stay with us at UIS! The Department of Residence Life is pleased to offer housing options to Approved Affiliates including: UIC Nursing students, ISU Nursing students, students who are participating in Internships in the Springfield area.

UIS Student Summer Housing

To be eligible for Summer campus housing you must:

1. Have paid all current housing related charges (including rental costs, late fees, etc.), AND
2. Be enrolled in summer academic credits at UIS, OR
3. Be affiliated with UIS (an internship, GPSI, etc.)

Housing Renewal & Selection for Returning Students

The process current residence hall and upperclassmen students follow to submit a housing contract for the following academic year and choose a space is known as 鈥渉ousing renewal & selection.鈥� As a current resident, if you fill out your housing contract by the application deadline, you will have priority over new students to select a room for the next academic year.

Summer 2025 Semester

5/23/25 : Transition Day for current residents - Located in HCOM - Receive keys to Summer assignment and begin moving

5/27/25 : Summer Transition Moves must be complete by noon

5/26/25 : Memorial Day; University Holiday - HCOM Closed

5/30/25 : Move-In Day (New Applicants ONLY)

6/2/25 : Summer Classes Begin

6/19/25 : Juneteenth; University Holiday - HCOM Closed

7/26/25 : End of Summer Semester

UIS Department of Residence Life operates separately from admission to UIS, so students MUST contact the Department of Residence Life to apply for or change their housing contract.

The UIS housing contract is a legally binding contractual lease agreement, and should be considered a commitment for both the fall and spring semesters.
