We have made it to May! Very soon, we will be celebrating the achievements of our wonderful graduates during our May 13 commencement ceremony. I hope everyone enjoys these next two weeks as we recognize and honor our students鈥� hard work, while juggling our busy end-of-semester responsibilities.

UIS interim Provost Linda Delene has informed me of her decision to resign from her position, and I have accepted it, effective immediately. I thank Dr. Delene for her service to our university.

Next week, as part of our Belonging, Dignity and Justice efforts and in response to recent camps events, UIS will host Kevin Jones, a restorative practices expert who provides training and support to educational institutions. Kevin holds a master鈥檚 69萝莉app in restorative practices and provides training and coaching nationally and internationally.

We are certainly in our 鈥渂usy season鈥� at UIS, with lots of exciting end-of-term activities, Springfest and final steps with most of our administrative searches. Last week was our annual STARS Symposium; I am so sorry I wasn鈥檛 on campus to attend but heard it was a great event. Congratulations to all involved!
