We strive to provide positive experiences for all facility users. With patron safety and well-being in mind, final interpretation of Campus Recreation policies and procedures will be the responsibility of Campus Recreation staff.

Intramural Handbook

Mission

The Department of Campus Recreation strives to meet the needs and interests of all who study and work at 69ÂÜÀòapp Springfield. Participants of diverse ages, skill levels, and abilities are encouraged to take an active role in an assortment of individual and team opportunities. Services, programs, and facilities help to develop and sustain a culture of wellness on campus while improving the overall well-being of the individual.

Equipment Rentals

Outdoor Adventures Equipment Rental

Planning your own outdoor getaway? Campus Recreation offers a wide variety of equipment available for rent to help you gear up for your next adventure.

Note: Equipment is not needed for any Campus Rec-led Outdoor Adventures trips. Gear is included in your trip registration.

Upcoming Adventures

69ÂÜÀòapp

Each trip is led by a trained and experienced trip leader. No prior experience or personal equipment is necessary. Just bring an open mind and a sense of adventure!

Trips are open to currently enrolled students only. Due to limited space, registration is on a first-come, first-served basis, and students may only register themselves for each trip.

To reserve your spot, visit the TRAC front desk to register and provide payment if required.

We have Bocce ball courts on campus!

We’d like to offer a summer lunch league for UIS employees. Yes, it’s a bit warm outside, but it’s not a game that takes a lot of energy. It's a game that's a lot of fun.

A team only consists of two people, but we’re encouraging departments to sign up. That way, you can have people cheer you on, or you can take turns, or if someone is on vacation, someone else plays. This is how it will work:

Cricket Pitch

Our campus features a concrete cricket pitch located just south of TRAC, across the street, between the baseball field and the soccer fields. It is available for use by UIS students and the UIS Cricket Club. While equipment is not provided, students are welcome to bring their own. Members of the Springfield community may use the pitch but must reserve it in advance by contacting Jay at jswen2@uis.edu.

Disc Golf Course

The 18-hole campus disc golf course is designed for players of all skill levels. Students, faculty, staff, and members of the Springfield community are welcome to use the course free of charge. UIS students can check out discs from TRAC during regular operating hours.

Rec Park

Rec Park is located on the north side of Vachel Lindsay Drive, directly across from Pennyroyal Court. The park offers a variety of outdoor amenities, including a sand volleyball court, an outdoor basketball court, horseshoe courts, a swing set, a mini golf course, a softball field (or two flag football/soccer fields), a bocce ball court, and a charcoal grill. Equipment is available for checkout at the front desk of Founders Residence Hall (FRH) or TRAC.
