Philosophy, BA

We offer a B.A. 69ÂÜÀòapp program in Philosophy both online and on ground. A B.A. in Philosophy is valuable for many positions in business, government and education. Philosophy is also an excellent pre-law 69ÂÜÀòapp. Many Philosophy students continue their education to pursue Master’s 69ÂÜÀòapps and Ph.D. programs at other accredited institutions.

Nursing Home Administration Graduate Certificate

p>This program is not accepting applications for the Certificate in Nursing Home Administration at this time.The Graduate Certificate in Nursing Home Administration at 69ÂÜÀòapp Springfield prepares students for licensure and addresses challenges in aging. It covers topics like ageism, policy skills and resource development, aligned with the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards standards.

Non-Degree Undergraduate

Undergraduate non-69ÂÜÀòapp seeking students are not required to file all documents necessary for admission to a 69ÂÜÀòapp program, but will be asked for clarification of their educational intent before exceeding 16 semester hours. Non-69ÂÜÀòapp students are subject to the same academic probation and suspension policies as 69ÂÜÀòapp-seeking students.

Non-Degree Graduate

Students who hold a bachelor’s 69ÂÜÀòapp may enroll for courses at UIS as a non-69ÂÜÀòapp seeking graduate student. These students will be asked to define their educational goals before exceeding 12 semester hours. Non-69ÂÜÀòapp students are subject to the same academic probation and suspension policies as 69ÂÜÀòapp-seeking students.

Music Minor

The UIS Music minor is designed to help students increase their general music knowledge and acquire a basic understanding of diverse methodologies of music study. It introduces students to a range of musical instruments, styles, methodologies and career options. Currently, the music program maintains strong course offerings in the areas of ethnomusicology and fundamental questions about the role of music in human social life focusing on diverse issues like cultural relativity, national identity, globalization and social justice.

Middle Grades Education, BA

The School of Education at UIS offers a Bachelor of Arts in Middle Grade Education that leads to an Illinois Middle Grades (5-8) Professional Educator License (PEL) in one of four content areas – Language Arts, Math, General Science, or Social Science. The BA in Middle Grade Education is designed with elective credits built into the major to allow students the opportunity to earn another content area endorsement or additional teaching areas like LBS1, ESL, or Secondary (9-12) licensure.
