UIS is a member of the Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce. RISE Springfield, the young professionals program from the chamber, is planning a Leadership Conference for April 29, 2025 at the Memorial Learning Center. Please consider sharing your knowledge/experience with young professionals within the greater Springfield area. Proposals are due November 11, 2024.

UIS students win $10,000 at Innovate Springfield pitch competition

A group of five University of Illinois Springfield students won $10,000 in seed funding for their startup, TredBase, during a pitch competition hosted by Innovate Springfield on Oct. 28. The competition featured three entrepreneurial teams pitching innovative ideas.

UIS Women’s Soccer Looks to Secure Conference Tournament Berth in Final Weekend

The UIS women's soccer team wraps up the regular season at home this weekend with two key matches. The Prairie Stars will face Upper Iowa on Friday at 5:00 p.m., celebrating Senior Night with a tribute to graduating players. On Sunday at 12:00 p.m., they take on Lewis for Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day and the annual Cancer Awareness Game.Â

Men’s Soccer Targets GLVC Tournament Spot in Competitive Final Weekend

The UIS men's soccer team is poised to wrap up the regular season this weekend as they aim to secure a return to the GLVC Tournament. The Prairie Stars will face Upper Iowa on Friday night at 7:30 p.m., followed by a matchup against Lewis on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Friday's game will be Senior Night, while Sunday's game will be Faculty & Staff Appreciation and the annual Cancer Awareness Game.Â
