After a quiet summer, it's refreshing to feel the energy, passion, and spirit of our student-athletes back on campus. They are an exceptional group, and spending time with them鈥攏o matter how long my to-do list in the office may be鈥攊s always a highlight.

Illinois Springfield Director of Athletics Mike Hermann has announced the promotion of Nicole Hager to Deputy Director of Athletics. In her expanded role, Hager will assume additional leadership responsibilities, focusing on initiatives that support student-athlete success both academically and athletically. 听
The UIS men's basketball team announced three additional newcomers听for the 2025-26 season on Wednesday. The newest Prairie Stars are Adidas Davis, Marlon Williams, and Isaiah Davis.

Here are three things that stood out immediately:
The UIS athletic department is celebrating another great summer of youth sports camps, with hundreds of young athletes taking part in basketball, volleyball, baseball, softball, and soccer sessions led by UIS coaches and student-athletes.
From the hardwood to the pitch and the diamond, each camp provided skill development, competitive play, and a fun, encouraging atmosphere for participants of all ages and experience levels.
The UIS women's soccer program has announced the addition of听Hailey Parungao听as its new assistant coach. Parungao brings a wealth of experience to the Prairie Stars, most recently serving as the听Director of Operations for Women's Soccer at 69萝莉app听and as the听Director of Peoria City, a member of the Women's Premier Soccer League (WPSL).
The 2025-26 school year kicks off with Friday night scrimmages at Kiwanis Stadium, free for all fans! Regular season competition is just around the corner鈥攃ome get an early look at the Prairie Stars.

The UIS athletic department announced Friday that single-game tickets for the 2025 Prairie Stars volleyball season are now on sale. Fans can purchase digital tickets for all regular-season home matches, including seven GLVC matches and two regular-season tournament weekends in September.
Noah Jacobs has joined the Illinois Springfield men's basketball coaching staff for the 2025-26 season, arriving from Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
"I want to thank Coach Brock and the administration at UIS for this tremendous opportunity. As someone from Springfield, it is a privilege to be able to coach at a very successful program with a strong culture. I am looking forward to a great season and cannot wait to get to work!"
The UIS athletic department is excited to announce a new mutli-year partnership with FanWord, one of the leading storytelling & AI technology companies in college athletics. Through this collaboration, UIS will integrate FanWord Assist, the company's AI-powered storytelling software, to streamline content creation and amplify the voices of its Prairie Stars community.
