Data Analytics Graduate Certificate

The Data Analytics Graduate Certificate is designed for Computer Science students who would like to acquire the basic knowledge and skills required for data science professionals to boost their marketability. The certificate provides fundamental knowledge in pre-processing, cleaning, exploring and visualizing data and machine learning and predictive analysis as well as storage, management and analysis of big data.

Data Analytics, MS

The M.S. in Data Analytics provides an interdisciplinary approach to data analytics that covers both the foundational mathematical knowledge of data science and the computational methods and tools for preprocessing, interpreting, analyzing, representing and visualizing data sets. Graduates of the program will have a foundation in data analytics that will prepare them for a professional career or entry into a Ph. D. program.

Computer Science, MS

Our program offers a master of science in the field of computer science. This program is oriented toward software and is most appropriate for candidates interested in the design, analysis and implementation of software programs.

Computer Science, BS

A concentration in computer science will familiarize students with the various areas of knowledge that make up the field. Students will develop a firm understanding of the fundamental skills and core theories that will endure the rapid technological change we experience daily. A bachelor of science in computer science also prepares a student for graduate studies in computer science or in other fields that are strongly associated with computer science.

The Office of Continuing and Professional Education (CAPE) offers digital badging services that let UIS departments validate employee skills and acknowledge student achievements outside the classroom.

You can partner with CAPE to design professional badges for your workshops, trainings, conferences, and other learning events. Badge earners can share their credentials on platforms like LinkedIn, showcasing what they have learned and their institution's commitment to professional growth.

The University of Illinois Springfield Associate Professor of Elham Buxton has published a new curriculum model aimed at fostering competencies in artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) among students in grades 7-10.
