Unveiling the Innovation Showcase: Inspiring Projects from the Orion Lab

The Orion Lab is a hub of innovation and research, with numerous projects that showcase the breadth and depth of exploration taking place within its walls. While many of these projects cannot be publicly disclosed until their research is published, we are proud to share a glimpse of the diverse range of endeavors happening at the lab. Some of the exciting projects include:

Jessie Misico, an online computer science major at the University of Illinois Springfield, has been selected as a recipient of the prestigious Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) offered by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. She will be studying Russian in Tbilisi, Georgia during the summer of 2023.

The University of Illinois Springfield Computer Science Department has opened a new high-tech research laboratory in the basement of the Health and Sciences Building. It’s called the Orion Lab, named after UIS’ mascot. The lab is open to all UIS students, faculty and staff for their research projects.
