Did you know that UIS has a field station located on Lake Springfield just steps away from campus? Well, now you do! Bring your lunch and join us for lawn games, canoeing or a field station lab tour on July 15 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Spend your lunch hour getting to know this hidden gem and all that this space has to offer! Cookies will also be provided.

The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the next installment of the Employee Development Series: Timekeeping. This session will be held virtually on June 24Â from 9 to 10:30 a.m. All are welcome to attend this session. Systems that we will be discussing and demonstrating are as follows: VSL, AVSL, FLRS, Timesheets (Banner Self-Service). Speakers will also be covering the time-entry process specific to leaves, as well as establishing time reporting procedures within your office.
Review the updates to the Faculty Personnel Policy Article 3 Professional Evaluation and Advancement. Then come and ask questions or discuss how you may want to think about preparing your narrative and portfolio.
The next Civil Service Advisory Council meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 4, at 10 a.m. The meeting will be held in Brookens 141A for anyone wanting to come. We will also stream the meeting via Zoom. The Zoom meeting will not be monitored so anyone wishing to interact should plan on attending in-person. All civil service employees are welcome to attend.
Please join us as we celebrate and bid farewell to Krystie Wilson and Cricket Homer on their retirement! We'll be having a celebratory gathering at the Student Union Ballroom on May 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. to honor their years of dedicated service and wish them well on their next adventure.
